Hill Walking

If you want to enjoy the fresh air and marvel at the stunning scenery then low ground walking is the best way to see and explore Rothiemurchus. However, if you are looking for something slightly more adventurous then we offer Guided Hill Walking Sessions with one of our experienced instructors. Spend a day experiencing the wildlife and geology of the Cairngorms National Park on foot, guided by an experienced and qualified mountaineer - the day will be geared to the group's interest and capabilities

Age: Min age 8 years and under 18’s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
Session Max: 8 places
Session Min: 4 places
Equipment provided: Binoculars and relevant booklets. Group safety gear
Participants to take: Personal walking equipment including walking boots, waterproof, lunch, snacks and drinks
Experience:

Some hill walking experience useful but not essential although a reasonable level of fitness is required

Route:

Northern Corries - taking in Coire an t-Sneachda, Coire an Lochain, Cairn Lochain 1215M, Cairngorm 1245M. Quite a demanding route but quite doable by relatively fit people

Meeting point:

Route dependant but normally M7 - Cairngorm Mountain Car Park- click for map

Duration: Approx 6-7 hours dependant on the route & group's abilities Price: £35.00 per person

If you intend to hill walk without a guide, please contact the Cairngorm Ranger Service for more information about this activity. Always treat the mountains with respect and remember that the weather can change rapidly at any time of the year.
