Rothiemurchus is incredibly accessible by road, rail and air. Situated a mere 30-minute walk from Aviemore or 5 minutes by car, 35-minute drive from Inverness through stunning Highland scenery and just over an hour's flight from London, you can be at the heart of the Scottish Highlands quicker than you realise.

Aviemore Railway Station is situated 1½ miles from Rothiemurchus. It is a pleasant 30-minute walk from the station to the Rothiemurchus Centre, however taxis are readily available. Aviemore Station is serviced by direct National Express and sleeper services from London and the south, and also has links to all major Scottish cities; 3hrs from either Glasgow or Edinburgh.

Rothiemurchus is situated about 2 miles from the main A9 road from Perth to Inverness and 5 mins by car from Aviemore.

From the North: Leave the A9 and follow signs for Aviemore. Travel through Aviemore town centre, on the B970 and you will reach a roundabout (with an Italian Restaurant on you right hand side) turn left at this roundabout, cross the bridge and you’ve entered Rothiemurchus.

From the South: Leave the A9 and follow signs for Aviemore on the B970 and you will reach a roundabout (with an Italian Restaurant on you left hand side) turn right at this roundabout, cross the bridge and you’ve entered Rothiemurchus. You will see the Fishery clearly signposted on the left hand side, continue along the road and you will see Rothiemurchus Centre. If you continue past the centre you will see the Rothiemurchus Shoot on the right hand side of the road.

Inverness Airport is only 45mins from Rothiemurchus.

Direct flights from London take just over an hour.

If you are looking for a more cost effective means of transport then often the bus is the answer.

If you are travelling from around the UK then FirstGoup operate some good transport links. Within Northern Scotland Citylink also offers a comprehensive service. If you are staying within the local area of Badenoch & Strathspey Stagecoach are the best choice for local transport by bus
